Though don’t you see?
You let eyes fool you.
You fool!
Eyes let you see!
You don’t though.
The Golden Gate Bridge’s opening day: May 27, 1937. Taken by an unknown photographer.
My grandfather and his friends crossed the Golden Gate late the night before it opened.
I forgot how nice a cigarette is on a cold night after a stressful day. This could be the beginning/return of another nasty habit I just might have to embrace.
Arguably one of his best interviews, easily one of my favorite, Jon Stewart talking to Arne Duncan, the Secretary of Education, is worth watching three separate videos.
We can be more than the sum of our parts
but when that mantra reaches only some of our hearts
and too many stop before a movement starts
and too many play dumb to hide their smarts
leaving people to believe that they’re worlds apart
because opening up can be the hardest part
letting insecurity kill the potential of art
what I’m saying ain’t much but I’ll say it’s a start
with a tiny little poem I have opened my heart.
Now you try.
